This Weekend

This weekend was super-cool. I got some more stuff recorded on Friday, but pretty much relaxed and decided not to do some auditions that... I probably should have. Meh.

On Saturday I was asked by one Mr. OmegaOptimusSupreme if I was available for the Team ZORM podcast with MasakoX. ...Sadly, I was not D: But that's ok. We'll just do it at a later point in time. I wasn't available because I was in Sarnia with my mom and sister. We went down by the Bayside mall, and even IN IT! [gasp]. Bear Creek Studio is closing down, but Ariel hinted that someone else is buying it and continuing on with it. Not too sure though. So I picked up a crap load of art supplies - giant wooden mannequin, medium sized hand mannequin, micron brush tip pen, micron .005 tip pen, a box of really pricey but nice markers (can't remember company), a book on perspective, a set of brush-tip pens, another giant sketch book (I just love those!), a CD by Kirk, and a set of new paints (mine are running low, and those were on sale, so why not?). Once we were done, I couldn't convince my sister or mom to go into Future Past Times with me. lol, oh well. XD

Then - and this is my favourite part of my weekend - I got to go see Kara and Jessimaca and Travis! :D Yaaaay!~ I gave Travis his present from Florida. We chilled out and played Little Big Planet, and there was a ninja, and Travi's bean-bag person looked like a pretty girl, and my bean-bag person was awesome and some kid thought it was a scary monster. Ehehehe. Then we went to othermom's house, and everyone watched Ponyo and ate stew!~ It was a fantastic visit. X3

Sunday sucked, but was still not bad. I got up early to help dad with barn chores, went to church, then took a three hour nap when I got home XD From there, I used my new hand mannequin thingie to practice drawing hands, and I drew a really good one. I coloured it with my new markers, too :D It's pretty~ Probably one of the best hands I've ever drawn.

Zetsu was being a brat, he was covered in mud and kept trying to jump on my bed, and when I closed off upstairs, he ran and hid in the basement. He REALLY did not want to go out side. So I just left him in the basement. XD Nobody was on Skype (WAT?!) so I started trying to find techno remixes of Disturbed songs on YouTube. Only found a few good ones, but here's one of them. This one really impressed me - he must have a wicked vocal-ripping program. Makes me want to do remixes. XD

And this one (these ones?) are just SO. PLAIN. CATCHY. AND UPBEAT. WTF. Love 'em.

While listening to some of this lovely stuff, I worked on cleaning up panels of the first chapter for Stand Up!. It took me SIX HOURS, but I got all 112 or so panels from the first chapter cleaned up and ready to go. All together, the video for this mangadub for chapter one of Stand Up! will have over three hundred pictures. ...Yeah. I felt motivated, so I had to get it done. About half way through, though, Zombi got on Skype so I chatted with him and Optimus, and eventually Mukluk got on and we had a grand ol' time. Mr. Apokkykins showed up later, too, and it was a fun little voice chat :D But I told Mukluk he was gonna get AIDs and die. I don't think he liked that much XP But still fun.

Yeah, so, rundown of my weekend. Some parts were boring, but amazing all at once. Most parts were just amazing. XD

Nearly doubled my wordcount.

So, certain people got of Skype early today, which compelled me to leave. Because I was bored. So, I wrote. And without a conversation buzzing in my ears or anyone to even type to, it went REALLY fast. And I mean, before, whenever I tried to write, it would take me from about 6:00pm - 1:00am just to get a daily limit in.

I've been at it for two hours (in three minutes it marks the two hours mark) and I went from having 4,821 words to 8,185 words. NICE! ;D I hope I can keep that up tomorrow~

So I finally got Sedge introduced. FINALLY. And he's developing nicely. ;D He's already freakishly laid back, has a weird, soft, almost monotonous, yet cheery, way of speaking - ALL THE TIME - and he already pisses Jathe off to no end. 'Tis wonderful, 'tis very wonderful. But soon my novel will be departing from regular appearances of Ieli, my main character's fiance's brother (Rythen's brother) which makes me sad, because I've quite grown to enjoying his company.

Even though he's a minor character, when I did a doodledump onto my laptop the other day, I noticed I've drawn him more than my villain. I've drawn him more than his brother. Who is much more main. I've drawn him more than Sedge. I've drawn him more than Linaria. But I DON'T think I've drawn him more than Jathe just yet, only because I draw Jathe a lot, because I love to draw his hair. XD But anywho. (NOTE: will include one of these drawings below)

I think I'll call it a night. It's 12:01 now anyways, so nothing else I write will count towards the word count from the ninth XP

In non-NaNoWriMo related news, today, between our Plant tour for Plant ID II and our late Landscape Design II lecture, since Joscelyn didn't want to walk all the way home to wait for class to start, and neither did Jason, we played Rock Band in my room! XD This has been my first group-banding in a long time, and my first one with those guys, and even my first one at college here. So it was awesomesauce. On thursday I'm going to teach Annemarie to play (she just watched us), and probably Jenny at some point, too. I want all my friends to Rock Band! haha. It's such a great game, and I miss it.

But I digress. Sleepy time!~

But yeah. I'm off to shower, then to bed. See ya, everyone! :D
Happy Noveling to you all!
(I hope tomorrow is another really good writing day for me, I truly need one)

PS, here's one of my characters!~

It's Ieli Bein! :D My main character's fiance's brother, who I had to turn into a thief/ninja so I could get my plot to move. XD HUHUHU. The bottom right is a comparison of face shapes and hair styles for he and his brother, Rythen.

I'm going to miss him when he's not in it any more, but maybe I'll have him pop up in the end. Because he's probably one of the nicest niceguy characters I've ever made. He's pretty cool.

Ahsoka Tano, the Battle Slave.

-kills self-

PS I've decided I want to marry Richard A. Knaak's brain.
PPS I seriously love the costume I designed, to the point where I'm starting to like Ahsoka, too.
PPPS I better do some good placin's in this contest. DX
PPPPS my hand is dead as is my brain as is my love for the music from .hack//

I'm entering a contest

A costume design contest!
I have to draw Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars chick) in a slave outfit. There's two parts to this, an illustration, and a rotational/costume sheet. Everyone that's entered has sleazy things and I was like "wauuugh". Mostly because the winning costume gets made into a real costume, and the chick who's hosting is actually going to wear it to a con. Poor girl. So I wanted something not so scarring for her to wear. As well, I've been reading so much Knaak lately that my thoughts keep turning to Faros, a minotaur character of his that was a slave and had to fight in the arena, and to Golgren, because he's a stinky orc (half-orc, sorry) and he keeps the orc tradition of beating the prisoners of war to death, but if the PoW survives they become one cool shit.

Anyways, so I decided to design Ahsoka in a battle-slave costume.

i have the rotationals sketched now, and I'm tired, so I'm taking a break.

In the mean time, here's the rough sketch, which was just sort of the original idea. The colour scheme with the blues was the one I decided on.

Wish me luck!

as well, just gonna stash a link here so I don't lose it. thnx. Even though a portion of the information on it is wrong, it's interesting.

Manga un-reccomendation / KisaTen... TenKisa? Tentenkisame? Kisakisatenten? UWAAH.

Firstly.

Now that that's cleared up, moving along.

Never ever ever ever ever read Fire Candy.
Ever.
It's so disgustingly beautifully gory even I found MYSELF flinching. I mean, it had it's charming parts, like when Haru (the quarter-lynx feminine-looking divorcee/father and prostitute) messed up that one guy's eyeball and then ate it right out of his skull, because he thought it was funny. And when Leo tore that one guy's nails/toe nails out, broke his wrists/ankles, and much more ghastly things I can't even remember from the overload of gore...

But yeah. I think the plot was something to do with half-animal (but human-looking, no anthros) drug-addicted teens that got mad because the prices were jacked up. Or something. I don't remember. I was too distraced with my... utterly disgusted reactions. And it wasn't just for gore. There were other parts I skipped. ...Yeah. That kind of stuff. -ahem- but regardless... even though I feel a little faint after reading it, I'm kinda pissed at the author for not finishing it (and it won't be finished ever. Ah well. at least it didn't leave off in teh middle of plot).

But yeah.

Leo is teh secks. Easily my favourite character. i dunno why. He just looks cool and he kicks ass. And stuff. Yeah. And he puked and it was all over his face and it made me lawl XD XD XD lol yeah I dunno. But he's gonna spontaneously combust some day and die so that kinda sucks. Oooooh weeelllll~ moving oooon~

I'm all Better.

I'm all better, but Peter and Jessie are still sick DX I'm worried for my brother and his wifey. ;_; They've been sick since the weekend.

But anyways. A while ago Kelly drew the most amazing picture for me. It's amazing because it involves two things;

My favourite pick up line and my favourite pairing.

Behold.

100th post! Yaaay lent! Sketch Dump!

This is my 100th blog entry! Yaaay!

To celebrate such a momentus occasion, before I go off and get myself slaughtered as I present my final speech for Communications class, and before I get picked up by my parents to go to the farm show, I decided to do a SKETCH DUMP :D

Advert not thine eyes, for I wish to make them bleed. BWAHAHAHA.

As a side note, for lent, I had two resolutions; draw at least one picture a day, and don't bite my nails.
Today marks the two-week mark for not biting my nails. =3 VICTOLY!
But as for drawings, I've only done nine, and I should have fourteen D:

Anywho, below you'll find a dump of some things I drew for lent, some old sketches, some works in progress... most of which didn't make it onto my DeviantART, so enjoy knowing this is the only place (with the exception of Akaari's picture, he didn't make dA but he did make HRNR) that you get to see these =3

Hanmou and Ginmaru <3 <3 Old WIP that I need to finish DX

DIN! :D Yaaay Nautolans! DRAWN FOR LENT

Mushi-mushi's concept drawing. I need to do a real drawing of him sometime, but for now, he's just my Aburame OC. Yay Mushi <3

Akaari-san! My Bleach OC!

Becky's Character-in-the-making (has been for months), Jakaya-sama! Doin' the CARAMELLDANSEN! ;D

I miss this OC. This is the back of Haramoto Kagerou's head. I just thought she had pretty hair <3<3 DRAWN FOR LENT

Takemoto Utakiiro! She's my other Bleach OC, and she's a looney. This is how she dresses in public - yellow sundresses over violet sweater/T-shirts, with rainbow toe socks and sandals, and ripped/paint-stained jeans and wicked awesome 70s headbands ;D

A COMIC I DID OF LYON :D You guys know David S. (Kelly's little brother) riiiight, riiiight? well he's working on the most awesome original Star Wars comic I've read (seriously, it's actually a really good read), and I've caught myself fangirling over Lyon Wenham. After much promisings of fanarts and one really late/earlymorning night, My crazed mind drew this :D PRETTY SHOUJO LYON. ...And Din. BUT LYOOON.

Avie art for a persons on Gaia ;D They coloured it. But I don't have the coloured version.

NEKONEKO-CHAN! Done for lent!

There now you don't get any more drawings until lent is half-done, then I'll probably do another sketch dump.

hay guise, eye hart two colurr!

So I was bored on Sunday and attempting to stick to my lenten resolution of finishing at least one artwork a day (which I'm so far behind on), I coloured that linearts I posted months ago ;D It's not done yet. (I decided to try to get my other lent thing back on track since the no-nail biting is going so damn well it's boring me to death.)

I've got a few things left to colour.
a) Jimmie's goggles
b) Background
c) Jimmie's hair tie... thing. Don't know which colour D: any suggestions?

Here she be so far.

While I'm at posting a picture of Mareka, I just remembered I finished a doll of her that some person on dA (base by Lunar-Hibiki, much props to them) had an awesome base for. PS She's modern in this one, not Steampunk.

What goes around comes around!

Someone drew my avie for me! Uwaaah! And I didn't even have to ask!

Which reminds me, it's Aerron's (character my avie is based off of) birthday soon. Hmmm. Maybe I should do a nice spread of he and his wifey as a present to him? ;D even though he's fictional and doesn't need a present? ;D

But seriously, he's my only character that has a set birthday. I kid you not. Well, okay, Murohshei had a set birthday too, but be damned if I ever remember when it was (I think it might've been the same day as mine? but for some reason I'm thinking earlier in the year... urrr...)

But anyways, enough rambles.

He's the wonderful, wonderful avie art that someone drew of Aerron! :D

As well, I've updated my lent status.
As well as stopping my painful nail-biting, I'm also going to try to draw at least one thing a day. I'm holding to this one more loosely, but I realized that i do just miss picking up a paper and drawing something. Yeah.

Drawings, Lent, and Takeyama town!

First on the agenda, Lent!
Gave up biting my nails. So far so good! :D But even though it's Ash Wednesday I could not get ashes today ;_; and I didn't get pancakes yesterday ;_; On the weekend I hope to guilt my daddy into cooking some for me, hurrhurr. And on Sunday Fr. Steve typically gives out ashes for anyone who missed the Wednesday. But I'll feel stupid, late, and neglectful of my religion if I get them then. -sighs- ah well, what can you do.

Second on the agenda, Drawings!
I made THREE complete drawings today! :D And none of them are my characters! :D I was kinda bored and wanted to try out a few different shading techniques with my prismacolor pencil crayons, well, okay, I wanted to for a while now. But I was on Gaia (as Aerron Hull, one of my other accounts, and believe it or not, he actually looks like the guy I named him after!) and I was poking around the forums and found a subforum in the Shops section called "Art Freebies" and I was like "oooh free art!" and although no one wanted to draw Aerron (I didn't ask anyone, actually), I poked around threads and found people I DID want to test my shading ... er... draw! -winkwink- -nudgenudge-

So here they are.

For a group of people that were tipping for arts:

For a girl who's quest was to collect 100 aviearts:

For someone who's thread caught my eye moreso than her avatar:

And last (but most important) I AM A MAYOR.
OF TAKETAMA TOWN! (yes it's named after one of my Naruto OCs but I miss him ;_;)
My town! Visit it pleaaaase. @_@

Maybe it's a thursday thing...

Okay, so, funny shit today, yeah. I was very "OOC", if it's possible for a real lize person to be so. At any rate, here's my story.

So I was over on that Bleach site I did the layout for, right? Well me and the girl who plays Yumichika (the pretty-boy that's in Kenny's squad, he always hangs around with Ikkaku, the bald guy) both like Renji, and everyone else on the site either hates him or thinks he's gay. Well somehow, for some reason, she wound up posting a most interesting picture that got some of the haters to think twice about hating, and some of the gay-theorizers to... er... well, they didn't rethink their opinions, but they didn't have any smart comments to make for this, so it's all good.

But to best document my reaction to this picture to them all, I drew a comic.

Anyways, here's my reaction-comic;

Now, before I go and show you the picture that made me do it (after a very long time), I need to point out two things.
1) after I went back and re-read the text the picture suddenly wasn't so cool anymore.
2) It was the hair that made me do that (I turn into a Renji fangirl under any one of the following two conditions: he's either covered in blood, or his hair is down), no this wardrobe (or lackthereof) (because after all, I see shirtless guys everyday and have since I was a baby. It's really nothing shocking/appalling/attractive or noteworthy to me, really....)

okay good now that that's cleared up. Here it is.

Linearts, and Kohaku explained

Linearts. Yeah. Not happy with a few things but I don't care anymore. Anyways. Let's explain Kohaku for a moment.

No, I don't mean him as a character, too many spoilers surround that. Let's just say, for now, that he's in the wrong place at the absolutely wrong time. But anyways, like I said, I'm not here to explain his character. It's his name. Thomson a little too readily for my tastes went ahead and pointed out that Kohaku is another k-name. Nobody who reads this will get the k-name thing, probably, unless you were online that day I got pissed and quit CroNous. BUT ANYWAYS, back on topic here. I'm not counting Kohaku as a k-name for two reasons; 1. Kohaku isn't his real name (he doesn't have a real name yet) and 2. I had told Shirley that it was a name I had liked/used before the whole k-name period of my lifetime, but he GRACIOUSLY pointed out that there really wasn't much to define the whole before-the-start thing. Yeah. So I decided that of all the k-names, it was the original. The first. The draft that gave way to the flood of k-names, if you will.

At any rate, I'm not counting Kohaku as a k-name. And if it were a k-name, it would be my favouritest of all the k-names. That's right. I said "favouritest".

So yeah. I still don't feel like writing tonight (even though I should, but isn't catching up like crazy what the weekends are for?). I don't even feel like colouring these linearts.

But yeah.

So, in conclusion, Kakuzu is a motherfuckin' badass with five fuckin' hearts.
Ooops, sorry, got carried away with a great quote. (Seriously, when I hear anyone say "In conclusion..." my mind automatically tacks "Kakuzu is a motherfuckin' badass with five fuckin' hearts." on the end. Bleh.)

Let's try that again.

So, in conclusion, linearts done but not entirely loved, and Kohaku != k-name.
kthnxbai.

Trish talks about her NaNo characters! :D

Shuuuu... so as you can clearly see, I've started drawing my two main characters for my novel. =3 Because I was going to write after supper. But I missed supper. So instead of writing I'm drawing. And it's Mareka and Jimmie! :D I thought "man, how would they sign their own names?" And believe me, those signatures are NOTHING like what their signatures would be. Except the sloppiness of Mareka. She got a late start on education. (and by late start I mean she was about 14 or 15 before anyone taught her anything. Including morals.)

Sooo, Jimmie, whose real name is Jeremiah, is an apprentice mechanic. He probably should go cut his hair some time, but oh! his boss, Aerron, keeps the poor kid busier'n all heck. He doesn't mind though, his work is, essentially, his life. He doesn't seem to do much outside of bantering with Aerron and fixing steam engines. He's damn good at both, one should note. He's also the most logical, clear-thinking, sanest character in this novel, making for a pretty sturdy mindset that every mentally healthy main character should have! yaaaay!

And then there's Mareka. Ooooh, Mareka. Words cannot describe this... ... ...
...
Either I have writer's block or I just proved my own point unintentionally. DX
At any rate, she's a novice nun (pairing killer, wheee~! "Not today, fangirls!"). She's also rather insane. She's been building bombs since she was a child, and is rather self-taught in that department. She grew up in the middle of nowhere (literally), on a chicken farm, with possibly bad parenting in her past (I never went into details on her parents and I never will). When she entered the story, back in the first novel, they found her being in a huuuge lapse on insanity, hiding away in a carner of a very dark room in a very neglected house, and in a separate room they found her parent's roting, bloating corpses. So she probably hadn't had food or even left that room for almost a week when they found her.

But anyways, these two met up in the first novel, as children. Jimmie hated her, she constantly teased him and made him miserable and she was a general all around annoying little crazed monstrosity. When Fr. Blake died (spoiler! gasp!) she took a 180 in personality... but not insanity. So she's nicer to Jimmie now, now that it's probably like, ten years later, but she's still a lunatic. And she still knows how to make bombs. But she doesn't annoy the crap out of Jimmie any more, so he's content with their friendship. Actually, they get along quite well. They're pretty much best friends. Whenever Mareka's not busy at the church and Jimmie's not busy working/running errands for Mr. Hull, they ... I dunno, hang out or something. Either way when they're not doing other things they spend their free time just chillin'. Because main characters that are never around each other that are supposed to be friends are very anti-plotful.

Anyways, yeah, I thought I'd draw them. Mareka looks crafty, like she's contemplating blowing something up. Jimmie is oblivious to this, of course, so he seems quite happy in this picture. Ah, the good times in life, ne?

One reason I was motivated to draw this was because I needed to remember what his hair was like. Yeah. Kinda like in this picture. It's the closest I've ever gotten it since the concept sketch for Grownup!Jimmie. I just drew Mareka in there because Jimmie without Mareka makes for a very empty picture, in my mind.

Okay but one reason that I ACTUALLY drew this for was because soon I'm introducing Kohaku and re-introducing the villain. Which means shit is about to be disturbed. Especially between these two, espeically considering how Kohaku is unfolding in my mind. Hurrhurrhurr. Jimmie is NOT going to get along with him, I can tell you that much. =3 And poor, poor, poooor (aka uncaring and oblivious) Mareka is caught up in the middle of it all. =3 ...Oh, and there's the imminent threat of the villain, too. Heh.

BUT YEAH. I should get writing. 'Cause after talking about my people with you guys I'm anxious to go bring my bad guy back (he supposedly died in the first novel). And to introduce Kohaku. ...But mostly just to have some scene where Mareka's being crazy and Jimmie is, miraculously, tolerating her madness quite well. Or rather, her Sparta. Haha. 300 joke. Anyways, yeah. I need to go write in Q10, not in my blog.

So bahye?

PS It's DAMN cold in this room. DX
